Important information about Post-results applications

What happens at enrolment?

There are 3 stages to enrolment

1. Registration
Our Registration team will check your ID and that your personal details are correct

2. Your enrolment appointment
Our enrolment team will check your GCSE results, discuss which courses you wish to study and confirm your place provided you have met the entry requirements.

We will have lots of specialist advisers on the day to offer additional advice and guidance should you need it. When you do receive your GCSE results, it is important that you check our Entry Requirements before you arrive at your enrolment appointment so that you know what to expect.
If you have received additional support at school and/or have a learning need or disability there will be the opportunity for you to meet with our Inclusive Learning Team at enrolment and they will be able to talk about how we can continue to support you at College.

Frequently asked questions

If you have not received any information about your enrolment appointment then please get in touch with Admissions ASAP admissions@asfc.ac.uk

During enrolment we will only be able to see people at college who have a pre-arranged appointment. You should not come on to the college campus if you do not have an appointment.

You will need to follow the post results application process above.

Please get in touch with Admissions ASAP admissions@asfc.ac.uk to make an alternative appointment.

If you do not attend enrolment and we do not hear from you then we will assume you no longer want your place for September.

You need your username and password that we sent to you via email to access the Applicant portal.

If you are having any issues please do not worry. Just turn up to your enrolment appointment and there will be people available to help you.

We offer a wide variety of subjects and courses. If you do not receive the GCSE grades you were expecting, please don’t worry. There will be plenty of advisors available at enrolment to give further support and guidance. If you meet the entry requirements for an alternative course or study programme we offer then we may be able to offer you this.
Please note all of our courses are Level 3 and if you do not meet the entry requirements for a Level 3 course, then you will need to explore alternative courses at another college.

Provided you meet the entry requirements for the course you wish to change to and there is space on the course you want to change to, then we will be able to make that change for you at your enrolment appointment.

Some students choose to attend enrolment on their own but should a family member wish to attend that is fine.

If you are applying for a remark of any of your GCSEs and the grade you achieve in that remark changes, then you will need to submit the evidence of this to your tutor when you have started college. We can only enrol you based on the grades we see on GCSE results day. If any remark changes the outcome of the courses you can study then you will be able to put in a request via your tutor to change your course/s.

If you achieved lower than a grade 4 in either GCSE English Language and/or GCSE Maths then this may affect the course you can study. Some of our courses allow a resit GCSE to be sat alongside it. This will be offered to you if you have met the entry requirements, and you will be enrolled on a GCSE English Language and/or GCSE Maths programme as well.

Once you have enrolled you will be unable to change your courses. If you wish to make a change you will be able to discuss this with your tutor after a week of teaching.

If you successfully enrolled then you will have received a letter from your enroller which lists the course/s you have been enrolled on to.

You will have been sent an email following your enrolment if you were successfully enrolled. This will have a link to book on to one of the Welcome Days.

Please ensure you book ASAP as the time slots are on a first come first serve basis.

Please contact Reception

Email: contact@asfc.ac.uk

Telephone: 0161 330 2330

Your timetable will be available on Cedar on Wednesday 2nd September. You will be shown how to access your college timetable at your Welcome Day.

If you are unable to attend a Welcome Day and you are having problems accessing it on Cedar then you will need to go to reception on your first day and they will be able to print one out for you.

You will receive a link to your personal email to book on to a Welcome Day once you have successfully enrolled. The Welcome Days are on Tuesday 1st or Wednesday 2nd September.

On the welcome day you will receive key information about starting college including:

  • Essential information about the start of year and accessing your college timetable
  • Setting up college online systems
  • Getting to know the college campus

If you wish to withdraw your place after you have enrolled then please contact Admissions ASAP admissions@asfc.ac.uk

You will be required to complete some work linked to the course/s you enrolled for before you start your lessons. The teachers will ask that you submit this work in your first lesson.

You can access the work here.
