Politics Students Welcome Green Party MP

Today, A Level Politics students were excited to welcome Hannah Spencer, MP for the Green Party into college for a talk and question and answers session.

Hannah, who has a background in plumbing, won the Denton and Gorton by-election back in February of this year, making her the first Green Party MP to win a by-election and the party's first MP in the north.
Hannah spoke to Politics students about her journey into politics, her experience of running in the by-election and how becoming an MP has changed her life.

Hannah then held an engaging discussion and Q&A session with the students, giving them the opportunity to ask her questions while also answering questions of her own to encourage conversation and interaction. Topics surrounding the social media ban for under 16's, climate change and the collapse of youth centres were explored, with students offering their opinions and being confident in their answers, putting their studies into practice.

Students found the talk very insightful and enjoyed listening to Hannah's thoughts on current issues!
A huge thank you to Hannah for coming in and working with our students.
