Elite Students Come 5th in Dance World Champs!

A1 students Macy Bonnar and Melissa Charlesworth have recently returned from an exciting trip to Orlando, Florida, after competing in the Allstar Dance World Championships!

Macy and Melissa have both been dancing from a young age and are members of the hip hop team, ‘Missiles’. Their team secured their place at the World Championships after winning a bid in the Senior Hip Hop category at a competition last May and have been training tirelessly ever since to create the best performance possible.

At the World Championships, they competed against 16 teams in the semi-finals, with only eight teams progressing to the final — including their team!

They finished the competition 5th in the world and 1st in Europe — an incredible achievement.

The college is proud to support students like Macy and Melissa through the Ashton Elite programme. Ashton Elite supports students competing in sport through coaching and mentoring, timetable flexibility and financial support.
