Enrolment 2025
What happens at enrolment?
Enrolment is the process where we confirm your place and course choices at college, based on your actual GCSE grades.
This year, enrolment will take place following GCSE Results Day on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd August. Enrolment is invitation only to those students who already have a conditional offer of a place for September 2025. Appointments have been sent to students with the day and time they should attend enrolment.
We will have lots of specialist advisers on the day to offer additional advice and guidance should you need it. When you do receive your GCSE results, it is important that you check our Entry Requirements before you arrive at your enrolment appointment so that you know what to expect.
If you have received additional support at school and/or have a learning need or disability there will be the opportunity for you to meet with our Inclusive Learning Team at enrolment and they will be able to talk about how we can continue to support you at College.
We will take a photograph of you at your enrolment appointment so that we can issue you with your college membership card which confirms your place at the college.
Once you have enrolled you will receive an email with information about your welcome day arrangements and your initial assignments. Initial assignments are work/reading set by your teachers in preparation for your lessons.
Can a parent attend with me?
Some students choose to attend enrolment on their own but should a family member wish to attend that is fine. We would request that this is limited to 1 person to manage the number of people we have on site.
Will I be able to change my courses at enrolment?
Provided you meet the entry requirements for the course you wish to change to then we will be able to accommodate this.
What happens if I don’t get the GCSE grades for my chosen course/s?
We offer a wide variety of subjects and courses. If you do not receive the GCSE grades you were expecting, please don’t worry. There will be plenty of advisers available at enrolment to give further support and guidance. If you meet the entry requirements for an alternative course or study programme we offer then we may be able to offer you this.
Please note all of our courses are Level 3 and so if you do not meet the entry requirements for a Level 3 course, then you may need to explore alternative courses at another college.
I haven’t had an offer of a place for September, can I still attend enrolment?
During enrolment we will only be able to see people at college who have a pre-arranged appointment. You should not come on to the college campus if you do not have an appointment. If you have not applied to the college or you need to discuss anything else that cannot be sorted at your enrolment appointment then you should contact Admissions on 0161 330 2330 or admissions@asfc.ac.uk.
When do I get my college timetable?
You will be shown how to access your college timetable at your Welcome Day on either 2nd or 3rd
September.
