Students Launch Young Enterprise Journey At First Trade Fair!

A group of Ashton students have officially launched their Young Enterprise business, Little Citizens, and they’re already off to an impressive start.

Working with support from the charity Young Enterprise, the team will be taking part in the national competition later this academic year. Their product is an activity pack designed to help young children learn about important and sometimes tricky topics as they grow up, including racism, mental health, social media, and more.

After carrying out market research during the college’s open evening, the students developed their final product and put it to the test at their first trade fair today. The event was held at Spectrum Brands, the company behind well-known names like Remington and Morphy Richards, and brought together teams from ten different schools and colleges.

Around 100 employees from departments such as Marketing, Finance and R&D visited the stands to offer advice and support. The Little Citizens team sold 17 packs and received plenty of positive feedback, along with useful suggestions to help them improve and grow their idea further.

The students are also building an online presence through their social media pages, @asfc_youngenterprise25, where they plan to share video demonstrations of some of the activities in the pack.

With a successful first showing, the team is looking forward to more events and opportunities as they prepare for the national finals later in the year.

A huge well done to all for a first successful trade fair!
