Ashton Sixth Form College is proud to be recognised as an AI in Education Pathfinder, achieving Pathfinder status within the AiEd Certified framework. This places the college among a group of sixth form colleges across the UK acknowledged for their work in supporting the responsible and purposeful integration of artificial intelligence across their community.
The recognition reflects the college’s proactive approach to the rapid development of AI, with a focus on guidance and support for students, training for teachers and support staff, and initiatives designed to build digital literacy. One such initiative is the Student Digital Leaders group, which gives students the opportunity to play an active role in shaping the college’s digital future.
Jo Fletcher Saxon, Assistant Principal for Teaching & Learning, said:
“We understand the importance of engaging with our students about AI, both in terms of the risks and the potential it offers. Working with AI in Education and other sixth form colleges allows us to continue developing the digital skills of our community. Our Student Digital Leaders are a skilled and innovative group, and we’re excited to see where this project will go.”
