Class of 2025 Awards Evening

Last week, we came together to celebrate our annual Awards Evening, recognising the achievements of our students.

Students, staff, and families gathered for a special evening to celebrate nominated students from the Class of 2025. The event provided an opportunity to reflect on students’ time at college and to acknowledge their hard work, dedication, and success. Our college band, 'One and a Half Suits,' performed for families and guests on arrival, setting a wonderful tone for the event.

Centre Principal Lisa Richards opened the evening with a warm welcome, congratulating the award recipients and sharing reflections on the Class of 2025’s journey during their time with us. She was followed by our guest of honour, former ASFC Chaplain Reverend Jean Hurlston, who delivered an inspiring address to students and guests, offering thoughtful reflections and encouragement as students move on to the next stage of their lives.

We were also honoured to be joined by the Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Shibley Alam, who presented certificates to students and congratulated them on their outstanding achievements.

To conclude the evening, Student Council President Jamie and Vice President Ibraheem delivered a vote of thanks, expressing their appreciation to staff, special guests, and families, and offering their congratulations to all students who received an award.

A huge well done to all the students recognised at this year’s Awards Evening, and thank you to Reverend Jean Hurlston and Councillor Shibley Alam for helping to make the evening so memorable.
