Ashton Sixth Form College Hosts Its First Apprenticeship Fair

In October, we were proud to launch our first ever Apprenticeship Fair – a brand-new event designed to help students discover the wide range of apprenticeship opportunities available to them and gain a clearer picture of where their next steps could lead.
The fair brought together an outstanding mix of employers and universities, all highlighting routes that combine real-world experience with recognised qualifications. From major national organisations to local employers, students were able to speak directly with industry professionals, ask questions and get a genuine insight into future careers.
We were delighted to welcome representatives from:
- Balfour Beatty
- Tameside Council
- Mottram Financial Services
- University of Central Lancashire
- AJ Bell
- Royal Air Force
- Greater Manchester Police
- University of Salford
- Manchester Metropolitan University
- United Utilities
- Addleshaw Goddard
Tony Payne, Careers Lead and Employability Manager, said:
“This fair was about showing students that there’s no single route to success, there are many. Apprenticeships combine learning, earning and progression, and our aim is to make sure every student leaves college knowing those opportunities are within reach.”
A huge thank you to all the organisations who joined us, and to our students for making the morning so engaging. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive – informative, inspiring, and full of excitement about what the future could hold.
