Ashton Sixth Form College has been awarded the Quality in Careers Standard, the national benchmark for excellence in careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG).

To achieve this prestigious award, recognised as the national kitemark for CEIAG, the college’s Careers and Employability Team underwent a detailed and rigorous assessment process. This involved evaluating the entire careers programme against the Gatsby Benchmarks to ensure that every student receives impartial, high-quality guidance.

As part of the process, the team gathered evidence showing how careers learning is embedded across all subjects, from lesson plans and enrichment activities to employer encounters and alumni engagement. Students, staff and external partners were also consulted to reflect on the impact of the programme and identify opportunities for further improvement.
The assessment praised the college for its strong leadership of careers provision, the integration of careers learning across the curriculum, and the wide range of employer and university engagement opportunities available to students.

This achievement reflects the dedication of the Careers and Employability Team, teaching staff and external partners who work together to bring the world of work into college life. It demonstrates that careers education is firmly embedded at the heart of the college, ensuring every learner is supported to make confident, well-informed decisions about their future.
