Course Length
20 weeks
What does this qualification cover?
The purpose of this qualification is to increase learner’s knowledge and awareness of children and young people’s mental health.
By completing the qualification, learners will develop knowledge of:
• children and young people’s mental health in context
• mental health problems commonly associated with children and young people
• the impact of mental ill-health on children and young people
• support available to maintain mental wellbeing in children and young people.
Who is this course suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for anyone looking to increase their knowledge of children and young people’s mental health.
How will you be assessed?
All units will be individually internally assessed using a range of methods.
Entry requirements
-Learners must be age 19+
-Learners must have a good standard of verbal and written skills.
This is a knowledge-only qualification. Learners do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to take this qualification.
What qualifications can you progress to?
Learners can progress onto Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or any other qualifications in the relevant area.
Cost
Study for free if you are 19 or older, and live in Greater Manchester if/and:
-This is your first Level 2 qualification (which equates to 5 GCSE's grade 9-4/A*-C, one A-level, or two or three AS levels, BTEC or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
-If you are in receipt of a means-tested benefit (universal credit) or you are in paid employment and earn less than £25,000.
