Art Foundation students from Ashton Sixth Form College travelled to Blackpool last week to conduct primary research for their man-made structure brief. Blackpool beach itself runs along seven miles of sand. The iconic Blackpool Tower, which is over 120 years old, stands centre stage at over 150 metres.
Art and Design students from all courses visited the Manchester Metropolitan University degree show yesterday. By attending the Degree Show, students were able to explore some of the creations on offer at degree level standard, taking inspiration to progress in their own work as they leave to excel in creative careers.

The event was titled "I'm a Child, Get Me Out of Here: A Tameside Colloquium on Outdoor Learning and Forest School" 120 participants gathered including our own education degree students and trainee teachers as well as colleagues from schools and nurseries locally and forest school practitioners.
