Concept 2050 Exhibition 2024

20 March 2024

Concept 2050 has returned for another year. The exhibition is based on 3D Design & Technology students task to reimagine and redesign the college campus to reflect how it would look in 2050.

The aim of this exhibition is to give students who are considering careers in architecture an introduction to the architecture pathway in 3D Design. It also gives an opportunity for all students to develop a good working understanding of CAD and its role in design and engineering.

It is clear that weeks worth of effort and work from both students and staff in the Art & Design department has gone into these projects and lots of fantastic work was created by the very talented students.

Leading experts from construction and design companies, Balfour Beatty and Abodiology (Interior Design company) attended the event to judge the designs and talk to students about progressing in to a career in architecture.

Four students were awarded certificates and gift vouchers from the judges:

  • Martha Campbell won Best Architectural Model, awarded by William Bowers, Carbon Advisor at Balfour Beatty
  • Jess McCabe won Best Exterior Design, awarded by Megan Profitt, Environmental Sustainability Graduate at Balfour Beatty
  • Amanee Miah won Best Interior Design, awarded by Susanna Smith - owner of Abodiology
  • Euan Wilkinson won Most Creative Response, awarded by Millie Bullock, Social Impact Apprentice at Balfour Beatty

A huge well done to all students who received an award, and all students who participated in the Concept 2050 exhibition!
