A Level student makes Leeds Rhinos debut

31 January 2022

Jack Sinfield is a first year student studying at Ashton Sixth Form College. At the age of 17 years old, Jack has made his professional debut for Leeds Rhinos Rugby Club.

At Ashton, Jack studies A Levels in Business, Economics and Maths. Jack has been playing rugby since he was about 7 years old for Saddleworth and his passion for the sport shines. He now travels regularly to train with Leeds and the college has been able to accommodate his tough training schedule to ensure he has the ability to keep up both his studies and his sport.

The dedication Jack has shown to study A Levels while training is commendable and it has not come without its challenges.

Jack said,

"I found it difficult at first to cope with doing both my work and rugby but I’ve gotten used to it now and I’ve been able to find a balance so that I have enough time to have some spare time to do things I want to do."

Sheridan Lewis, Assistant Principal of Aspirations and Achievement, and a supporter of Jack's pathway, commented,

"This is quite an amazing achievement for someone of his age. He is playing top level, elite rugby whilst also managing to study for 3 A levels. His debut with Leeds Rhinos is inspiring."

Jack completed his early education at Saddleworth School.
