Coronavirus response update - 02.07.20

Coronavirus response update 2nd July 2020

I hope this finds you and your family safe and well.

A few updates today:

Firstly, a reminder that teaching for students ends on Friday 3rd July, the last day of term for our students. Online teaching and learning will continue until this date.

This afternoon, the Department for Education has distributed the updated guidance to support our return to college in the autumn term. We will need to take a few days to digest this and then amend our plans for the start of the new academic year based on the advice given. We will also review our risk assessment and may send out amended guidance for students based on our amended risk assessment. Please bear with us as we do this work; it is imperative that we get this right to ensure that the start of the academic year is as smooth and as normal as possible in the circumstances.

Tameside Council have shared two website containing links for activities for families and young people. These may be useful for younger brothers and sisters and may help during the summer months. The information can be found at:

That’s all for today.

Take care, look after yourself, your families and each other; be patient and stay positive.
