19 June 2018

Dylan Boys-Massey won Gold at the 2018 Greater Manchester Schools Championships in the discus.

He studies PE, Geography and Forensic Science at Ashton Sixth Form College and began his early education at West Hill School.

Dylan has been passionate about sport his whole life. He played on almost every sports team in primary school, and continued to compete at higher levels representing his high school. It was in Year 7, when he tried various track and field events and found he had a natural ability for the discus throw. Alongside school competitions, Dylan has also took part in county competitions across the North West.

He has been training with East Cheshire Harriers for around a year, and has officially been competing in the discuss at this level for about 1-2 years. The Greater Manchester Schools Championships 2018 took place in Stretford, where Dylan threw a PB of 26.79 at 1.75kg.

Managing his time outstandingly, Dylan balances the challenges of his mixed study programme alongside training in his sport.

In the future, he has high hopes of remaining within the sporting world either competitively or in teaching. He aims to progress on to university to study a degree in Sports and Exercise Science.
