World Book Day 2018

5 March 2018

World Book Day 2018 was a success at Ashton Sixth Form College, despite the snow delaying celebrations.

The Library and Learning Resources Team were running a series of competitions including a quick read competition where students who left a review on a book they read, could win up to six new titles.

Throughout the Library there was also a Book and DVD sale allowing students and staff to purchase titles for just 50p.

World Book Day is an annual event celebrated across the country. The day is also recognised in over 100 countries worldwide. This year marks the 21st year of celebrations to increase awareness and encourage young people, and all ages, to pick up a book.
