Students Offered Paid Work Placement at Ernst and Young LLP

4 August 2017

Three students at Ashton Sixth Form College have been offered a prestigious paid work placement position at Ernst and Young LLP, a multinational professional services firm specialising in Finance, Legal, Assurance and Advisory services.

Ernst and Young LLP is one of the largest professional services firms in the world. In 2016, the company reached an employment headcount of 231,000 people, with a combined global revenue reaching $29.6 billion (EY.com, June 2017).

Students applied to join the highly competitive 'Smart Futures' programme at Ernst and Young LLP and were selected amongst many for the opportunity. The programme allows students to network with other aspiring professionals and established workers in the industry. Students get involved in workshops and as part of a team will problem solve and work on a sample case study that is a real genuine issue. Following this preparation and skill-based learning, students then experience the real world of business firsthand, completing a placement to gain hands on experience.

The opportunities students receive on such a placement will set them apart when progressing on to a business pathway in the future. Experiences at global companies on such a tremendous scale, such as Ernst and Young, are highly sought after and very rare.
