A week of exam and careers advice as students prepare for final term

24 April 2024

As A2 students prepare for their exams and leaving college, we welcomed several visitors into college last week to talk to students about their next steps.

Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF) came in to speak to students who are thinking about full time employment when they leave college. GMPF have summer and permanent jobs available based at their offices in Droylsden. We saw a brilliant turn out from students and Jess Healy from the company was delighted with how lovely the students were and is optimistic they will get some really good applications.

Robert Hindle from the University of Manchester came into to speak to business students ahead of exams. Robert is an economics, business and PGCE lecturer and examiner and provided exam technique skills and revision for our A2 Business and Economics students.

Finally, we were proud to welcome back Alumni Heather who studied biology, chemistry and psychology. She is now a student physiotherapist in her final year of the degree at the University of Huddersfield.

She visited College to deliver a talk to students about what it is like being a student physiotherapist at the University of Huddersfield; the challenges & rewards of this career; what makes a good physiotherapist as well as applying to university for physiotherapy degrees.

Following on from this, she stayed in the Careers & Employability Hub where she answered any questions the students had.

A huge thank you to all our visitors this week, during this busy period for students this time and advice is invaluable as they decide on their next steps and prepare for exams.
