What will I do?

Student Ambassador

Designed to provide first-hand information about what its like being an Ashton Sixth Form College Student. As a role model, a Student Ambassador is in an ideal position to be a source of inspiration and spread the interest and enthusiasm for study. You get to develop valuable skills in presentation and organisation as well as represent college to the outside world through a number of events and activities.

Marketing Ambassador

As a Marketing Ambassador you will have responsibility to spread the word about the amazing things happening at Ashton Sixth Form College. You will create blogs, write social media posts, cover events and try your hand at photography and cinematography. As you will be the voice of the Ashton Sixth Form College student body, it is important that you are a good role model, source of inspiration and show a high level of enthusiasm.

Health, Social Care and Early Years Ambassador

Within this role you will help represent the Health, Social Care and Early Years department at college events such as Open Evenings and Taster Days. You will also use your subject knowledge to help students in the year below you at college.

Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

Here at Ashton Sixth Form College, we give you the opportunity to gain your Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, regardless of whether you have already completed your Bronze or Silver. You will take part in Volunteering, Skills, a Residential and an Expedition. 

National Citizenship Service - The Challenge

National Citizenship Service is a once in a lifetime opportunity that helps young people build skills for work and life while taking on new challenges, meeting new friends and contributing to their community. Programmes run in October Half Term and the Summer holidays and count towards the Residential element of the Duke of Edinbugh Gold Award.

Raising Aspirations

Raising Aspirations gives you the opportunity to try university level study whilst you are at Ashton Sixth Form College. You will choose the subject stream that you are interested in, even if you are not currently studying it. You will then attend three lectures and a university visit over the course of the year. This is a great opportunity for anyone considering university as an option.

Juvenes Translatores

Juvenes Translatores is our annual translation context for 17-year-old students. This year's theme will be the eauropean Year for Development. You must be able to qrite to a high standard in two Eauropean languages.

Young Enterprise Company Programme

Under the Company Programme you will find out what it's really like to set up and run a business. Over the year you will make all the decisions about their company, from raising the capital through to designing a product or service to selling directly to customers. Through the programme, you will have the opportunity to sell your product at trade fairs and Christmas Markets around Greater Manchester - including the Manchetser Christmas Markets!
