Record number of students accepted into OxBridge!

2022 is the year of breaking records here at Ashton! 9 of our students have successfully secured a place at either the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge.

After months of hard work from these XL students, they can now relax knowing their places are secured and they are off to their chosen College's.

Hannah Benson, from St Thomas More RC College

Achieved A*A*A in English Language, History and Law. Hannah is now going to the University of Oxford (Corpus Christ) to study Law.

Melissa Lee, from West Hill School

Achieved A*A*A in Law, Psychology and Sociology, along an additional A and B in Core Maths and the EPQ. Melissa is now going to the University of Cambridge (Murray Edwards) to study Psychological and Behavioural Sciences. 

Aisha Benhamida, from the Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls.

Achieved A*A*AA in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths, along with an A* in the EPQ. Aisha is now going to the University of Cambridge (Clare) to study Medicine.

Bobby Doherty, from All Saints Catholic College 

Achieved A*A*A*A in Computer Science, Physics, Maths and Further Maths along with an A in the EPQ. Bobby is going to the University of Oxford (Trinity) to study Physics.

Oliver Gaskell, from West Hill School

Achieved A*A*A*A in Computer Science, Physics, Maths and Further Maths, with an A in the EPQ. Oliver is going to the University of Cambridge (Fitzwilliam) to study Computer Science.

James Poff, from St Thomas More RC College

Achieved A*AA in Geography, Maths and Physics, with an A in the EPQ. James is going to the University of Cambridge (Fitzwilliam) to study Geography.

Rory Tyler, from West Hill School

Achieved A*A*A* in Biology, Psychology and Geography, along with an A* in the EPQ. Rory is going to the University of Oxford (Hertford) to study Geography.

Sam Seaborn, from St Thomas More RC College

Achieved A*A*A in Business, Economics and Geography, with an A* in the EPQ. Sam is now going to the University of Oxford (Regent's Park) to study Geography.

The Geography department are incredibly proud of Rory, James and Sam for their OxBridge offers to study Geography. Read about that HERE.

Emmie Coffery, from St Phillip Howard achieved A*AB in English Language, English Literature and Spanish. Emmie is now going the University of Oxford (Christ Church) to study Spanish.

The college are incredibly proud of these students and we wish them every luck with their future studies and careers.
