Brain Day with Dr Guy Sutton

8 December 2021

Psychology students at Ashton Sixth Form College attended Brain Day 2021.

Each year, the Psychology and Criminology department welcome Dr Guy Sutton, a Director of Medical Biology Interactive (MBI) and an Honorary (Consultant) Assistant Professor at the Division of Psychiatry, University of Nottingham Medical School.

During his visit, Dr Sutton explored the workings of the brain, covering complex understandings of how the brain works. Students studying Psychology at A Level explore modules in Social Influence, Memory and Attachment, as well as Approaches to Psychology, Psychopathology and Research Methods.

Dr Guy Sutton's visit allowed students to learn about aspects of Psychology beyond the A Level curriculum. It allowed them to explore some of the research Dr Guy Sutton has been involved in and hear about some of the most recent advances in Psychology.

Following the lecture, students were also able to take part in a brain dissection.
