Realising Aspirations launch for 21-22

2 November 2021

The Realising Aspirations programme has officially launched for 2021-22.

Realising Aspirations is the college's flagship university preparation programme. It allows students to experience university life whilst studying at college. Students on the programme choose a subject strand that interests them or focuses on their chosen career. They will then attend lectures and seminars in college delivered by university professors. In addition, students also get the opportunity to visit universities across the country to experience university life and how their chosen subject(s) would be taught at degree-level.

Principal Anton McGrath welcomed the new cohort to the programme. He shared his own experiences of being the first in his family to go to university and how to make the most of the programme over the next few months.

The University of Leeds also delivered a talk on 'Making the most of year 12' and how students can best prepare for higher education.
