PE student Mia features in 'Women in Sport'

Mia Wood studies Biology, PE and Psychology at Ashton Sixth Form College. She is currently in her final year. 

The Sport and Public Services department were contacted by the Tameside Reporter who were looking for outstanding female sport students who have shone above and beyond. Immediately, the department though of Mia.

In the December 10th issue of the Tameside Reporter, Mia features in the 'Women in Sport' column, written by Katie Catherall.

While studying at college, Mia is also a dedicated footballer, playing first for Curzon Ashton and now Mossley AFC. 

She is an extremely talented individual who continues to over come great challenges in her life, including health issues due to a blood disorder she was diagnosed with in her early teens. 

Her fighting spirit and determination is an inspiration to all.
