Coronavirus response update - 27.04.20

Coronavirus response update 27th April 2020

A few updates.

In order to manage to number of emails received by students, the Senior Tutor team will be moving to a bulletin approach, bringing key messages together once or twice a week. We feel that a smaller number of more substantial emails will increase the likelihood of your sons and daughters seeing important information. Please continue to encourage your sons and daughters to check their emails on a daily basis.

We have now received more information about how the laptop and 4G router scheme will work. We are discussing our approach to this tomorrow and we will publish the information to those who are eligible by the end of the week.

All students will be receiving an email containing some important information from Senior Tutors about a company called Depaul. They have numerous resources which may be of help to your sons and daughters during these unprecedented times. Please could you encourage your sons and daughters take a look and access the resources if they feel they could help.

Thank you for your support with keeping students on track and engaged in their learning. Most students are engaging well with 929 direct access requests to the college servers today which is excellent. Well done!

And finally, tomorrow at 11.00, there will be a national minute’s silence for key workers who have tragically lost their lives caring for those with COVID-19.  The minute’s silence has been organised as part of a collaboration between public service trade union Unison, the Royal College of Nursing and the Royal College of Midwives.

That’s all for today.

Take care, look after yourself, your families and each other; be patient and stay positive.

Anton
