University trips on the Realising Aspirations programme have begun.

Students sign up to join Realising Aspirations in their first year at Ashton Sixth Form College. The programme aims to give students a better understanding of university life and the range of courses available to them. Students sign up to a particular subject strand of their choice and they then visit a university to learn more about the courses on offer at that university and get a feel for the campus. In the second half of the academic year, the in-college sessions begin and students get to experience seminar sessions from leading lecturers in their chosen field.

In the first half of the year, students go on university trips across the country. So far this year, students have visited Durham University, MMU, Bradford, Birmingham and Nottingham Trent.
