Public Services Food Bank Mission

12 December 2019

Second year Public Services students at Ashton Sixth Form College have been working extremely hard over the past two weeks as they decided to volunteer at the Tameside East Foodbank.

The Foodbank provides food and supplies to those who need it most. In the lead up to their collection, students encouraged staff and students across the college to donate any food they could spare.

They then went down to the foodbank to donate the food they had collected and their donations were greatly received. They chose the local foodbank as the work they do directly impacts local people within the Ashton/Tameside area.

The department said,

"It has been a very emotional but rewarding experience and one we will now be pursuing annually."

The Public Services students are continuing to take donations at Reception or under the Foodbank Christmas tree outside the Chaplaincy.
