Media students visit Countdown

3 October 2019

Media students from the Digital Technology and Multimedia department visited the set of Countdown.

Since 2013, Countdown has been filmed at Media City UK in Salford. Students were able to watch a live recording of the show that began in 1982.

Countdown is a particularly interesting show for the students to visit as it was Channel 4's first ever TV show and it remains one of the longest running game shows in the world.

Students were able to see how a live TV studio works firsthand. They were able to gain a greater understanding of how the varying and diverse range of roles within TV all work together to achieve the end goal. Students were then able to think more clearly about where they could progress on to after leaving college.
