Students attend enrichment day 2019

26 September 2019

Enrichment Day at Ashton Sixth Form College provides first year students with the opportunity to try something completely new.

Just a couple of weeks in to the new academic year, students had the choice to visit Alton Towers or sign up to an extensive range of in-college activities. The college is passionate about giving students the chance to experience new things and it is also the perfect opportunity to not only learn a new skill, but also to meet new people who share similar interests.

The day started with around 500 students heading off to Alton Towers in Staffordshire. The trip is always one of the key moments of the year enjoyed by both students and staff alike.

Those who chose to stay in college had an amazing set of options. Students took part in First Aid training, arts and crafts, disc golf, sign language, cupcake decorating, football, photoshop basics, games design techniques and more! In addition, Art students were also able to go off site and visit the Imperial War Museum.

As the academic year continues, students are able to take part in enrichment throughout the year on a weekly basis. This year these have included Beginner's German, Ukelele Club, Dungeons and Dragons, Debate Society, ASFC Green Society, a whole host of sporting activities and more.
