Art Foundation students take in the sights at Blackpool

14 November 2018

Art Foundation students recently visited Blackpool to conduct their primary research and take in the sights.

Students on the Art and Design Foundation Year course have chosen to refine their skills before progressing on to university or employment. These particular students are extremely dedicated and are working on the course to develop their artistic flair and creative ability.

The Art Foundation Year is run by the Ashton Higher and Adult Education department.

While in Blackpool students were able to explore typography and graphic design as well as mark making and sketching. They were also able to develop their photography skills in varying light levels and conditions.

Throughout their course, foundation year students look at the methods involved in Exploring Visual Language. They develop their specialist practice and produce portfolios of work as evidence. The entire year builds up the final end of year exhibition in which student exhibit and display their work for the public.
