Women's football finalists at the Manchester FA Tournament

11 October 2018

The Women's Football team entered the Manchester FA Tournament. They put in a spectacular performance and reached the final coming in as runner's up.

Throughout the tournament the team played a total of 6 games.

The first 5 games were qualifying rounds for the final and they won all 5 games by quite a margin: 5-0, 5-1, 7-0, 3-0 and 8-1.

It was in the final where the women faced the hardest game of the day. Unfortunately they were narrowly beaten 3-1 by Holy Cross Women's first team.

This particular women's football team is newly created this academic year and the team are showing great promise already. Despite being a relatively new team their commitment and hard work pushed them all the way to the final. The college is looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings for women's football.
