Physics Launch Rockets on Student Enrichment Day

25 July 2017

Physics students at Ashton Sixth Form College explored the process of building rockets on Enrichment Day 2017.

They applied their theoretical knowledge to the practical world, exploring outside of the classroom and in to a world of problem solving.

The day began with a series of talks from a visiting lecturer of the University of Manchester. The university is currently ranked 7th in the country for Physics and Astrophysics degrees (Complete University Guide, August 2017).

Following the morning with the University of Manchester, students from Ashton Sixth Form College had the opportunity to build their own rockets with precision and accuracy.

Following the construction process, students headed out on the playing fields to launch their rockets.
