Young Enterprise Students Win at the Area Finals 2017

4 April 2017

Ashton Sixth Form College's Young Enterprise students competed at the Young Enterprise Stockport, Tameside & Rochdale Area Finals 2017. For their innovation and effort the team were awarded "Best Trade Stand" on the evening, in recognition of their customisable chalkboard grow-your-own herb sets.

As part of the Young Enterprise Stockport, Tameside & Rochdale Area Finals 2017, students were required to set out a trade stand where they explained their product to a team of judges. The team also had to complete a Company Report and deliver a presentation to over 50 people.

A few weeks ago, Ashton Sixth Form College's Young Enterprise students were selling their product at the Trafford Centre in Manchester where their product stood out once again, receiving the 'Best Product' Award by Young Enterprise.

Aminul Islam, Grace Sherrington, Andrew Stansfield, Parin Vyas, Nikhil Mistry and Jess Kelly make up this year's incredible Young Enterprise team who have worked extremely hard this past year, showing great commitment and dedication to the project.

Students are able to get involved in the Young Enterprise programme as part of the Enrichment offer available at the college. Students who take part in the programme gain a complete overview of the business world, from the planning and marketing to buying and selling stages.

The Young Enterprise Company aims to develop student's entrepreneurial skills by giving them the tools they need to set up their own business.
