Services
At Ashton Sixth Form College we focus on looking after every individual to help them achieve success. We recognise that students require extra support beyond classroom teaching and we offer this in a variety of ways.

COLLEGE CHAPLAINCY

We are committed, as a college, to supporting the ‘whole person’, not just academic progress. Our Chaplain, Reverend Jean Hurlston, offers a friendly and welcoming service for all students to access.

The Chaplain's principal role is to be freely available to you and to all students, both those of any faith and those of none, to offer help and advice, support and encouragement, and to be a sounding board and a ‘friendly ear'. This may be especially helpful at difficult or challenging times when you may have particular problems or concerns you would like to discuss with someone other than family, friends or college staff – and these certainly do not need to be limited to spiritual matters only. The Chaplain is accessible for confidential consultations during the college day and also, at other times, by arrangement.

The Chaplaincy activities, in collaboration with the tutorial programme, aim to encourage all college members to reflect and to understand that all of us in our different ways can encourage an active response to those in need. These services are of an inter-denominational character and we welcome students of all faiths to get involved when they feel they can.

The Chaplaincy provides a ‘quiet room’ where students can enjoy time to reflect and talk things over.
