A significant investment has been made in the college buildings and facilities in recent years and investment will continue to be made to ensure that students benefit from the best facilities in the future.

FACILITIES AT ASFC
At Ashton Sixth Form College we understand the importance of investing in technology and facilities for our students. Our most recent development, the Geoff Higgins Building, is a fantastic example, housing purpose-built classrooms for Children's Care, Learning and Development, and Health and Social Care students. The building is also home to our Learning Resource Centre which has computers available for students to use, silent study areas and a host of study aids.
With the new Geoff Higgins Building LRC in place, the old library area has now been re-developed as a 160-seat lecture theatre which is regularly used for guest speakers and events.

The Learning Resource Centre aims to provide all students with a range of services and facilities to support and enhance the learning experience, offering a friendly, safe and clean working environment.
» ICT Facilities
Our ICT facilities are second to none – with over 600 networked PCs you won’t have a problem finding a machine to use or accessing your work from the college network.
» Specialist Course Facilities
Throughout the subject areas there is a range of specialist equipment available to use. In the expressive arts department you’ll find digital cameras and digital video cameras, iMac computers with Final Cut Pro editing software. Music students benefit from the use of our 24-track professional recording facilities as well as the iMac computers for creating and editing music.
