With over 45 different subjects to choose from there is a course programme to suit each individual.

COURSE GUIDE
When you leave school to come to Ashton Sixth Form College there are lots of courses to choose from.
AGCEs (AS & A2)
With AGCEs you can develop your understanding of subjects you may already have studied at GCSE, or choose subjects that are new. You choose to study four AS subjects in the first year and then go on to take three or four of these subjects at A2 level in the second year.
You must achieve 5 grades A* - C including GCSE English or Maths for these courses.
International Baccalaureate
This prestigious international qualification is highly regarded by universities worldwide. It is a fantastic option for students who wish to stretch and challenge themselves – students study six diverse subjects including Maths, English, Science a Modern Foreign Language, an Arts and Humanities subject.
You must achieve 6 grades B including GCSE English and Maths for this course
Advanced Diplomas
The Advanced Diplomas are designed for students who can not choose between academic and vocational study and would like a blend of both. You learn real life skills whilst continuing to study academic subjects.
You must achieve 5 grades A* - C including GCSE Maths and English for these courses.
Level 3 Vocational (BTEC National Diplomas & Certificates)
This is a practical qualification which focuses on helping you learn skills to go into a particular area of work. This Advanced qualification is roughly the equivalent to two or three AGCEs and takes two years to complete.
You must achieve 4/5 grades A* - C (or Pass in same BTEC vocational qualification) including grade D in GCSE English or Maths for these courses.
Level 2 Vocational (BTEC First Diplomas)
A BTEC is a very practical qualification which focuses on helping you learn skills to go in to a particular area of work. The BTEC First Diplomas take one year to complete and enable you to move on to study one of our Level 3 BTEC National Diplomas or Certificates.
You must achieve 3 grade Ds including at least a grade E in GCSE English or Maths for these courses.
Level 1 Vocational (BTEC Introductory Diploma)
This one year vocational course is for students who are not yet ready to start college on a Level 2 course. The course will prepare you for employment and if you do well you will be able to progress on to one of our BTEC First Diplomas.
You must achieve Es , Fs or G grades in your GCSEs for this course.
